Converting a colonial walk-up apartment into a cooking studio complete with a lounge, outdoor dining area and a retail was a massive undertaking. Our client wanted a homey, intimate and cool ‘hangout’ space bringing in the corporate color red throughout.

The large, functional island with kitchen counter seating created the center for the cooking studio space. In order for the space to work as a kitchen, we raised the entire ground to run pipes and drainage in the kitchen area. Built-in shelves and visual displays areas surrounded the island. The business also required a back office area and sleeping quarters for visiting chefs.

The results: a cooking school that feels like a home. An inviting and welcoming studio complete with guest quarters, lounge, outdoor dining area and a retail corner.
