Concept

In keeping with the tradition of black & whites, the design concept brought together both the heritage of Asia mixed together with European culture for this colonial bungalow. Contrast of old and new, bringing touches of old world charm together with the simplicity, minimalism and functionality known in Scandinavian design aesthetics created the foundation of this expansive historical property.

Soft fabric furnishings, warm teak wood tables, and neutral-colored accessories were set against the dramatic backdrop of high white walls reaching up towards exposed wood beam ceilings in the living room. Vibrant, fun colors sparsely intermingled throughout the pool table room added interest.

Throughout the remainder of the home, minimal Scandinavian furnishings were mixed with colonial contemporary Indonesian décor with pops of color to draw attention to special architectural features throughout the bungalow adding a touch of elegance to a casual, inviting space.
